There’s been a lot of talk this year about what it takes to raise an Olympic athlete – the early morning practices, the travel, the commitment…but what about the cost? For many sports, it’s significant, especially when parents find themselves raising a budding sports prodigy. Indeed, parents and their athletic offspring often dream of bringing home the gold, but this is one reward that will cost much more than its weight in medals.
